In-game Khajiit is correct , etc - spot on.
What I was referring to was shade's suggestion that Khajaat should be singular.
What I thought he was saying is that if this were Latin for example an 'a' in the ending would more likely denote a singular declension of a noun and 'i' would be plural. For a verb at would likely be he/she/it singular (possibly imperfect tense) but then it would be perfect tense he/she/it singular too - it's kinda a mix, but I gave him points for seeing what he did - though I had reasons for preferring the it ending and your own addition supports that too in a different way.
The feel of a lot of Tamriellian stuff is Latin-related through the Empire-link, but Khajiit just happens to come as you say from their own language and has very specific meanings. Now if he is referring to another linguistic tradition entirely then that's another matter ... I sorta feel that the Khajiit tradition has a strong Middle Eastern feel among other things - the desert wanderers
