Second Akaviri war?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 9:09 pm

LIke I said I don't know much about it. But I find all the Akaviri artifacts lying around in OB pretty interesting. Could we maybe see an Elder Scrolls based on a second Akaviri invasion?

Rumours abound that TESV will be set in Skyrim. I'm just imagining a bunch of Oriental themed warriors facing of against heavily armed Nord warriors :)

Soooooo............Yes? I knew all the inhabitants stuff. The conflict timeline was pretty cool. Is there a map showing where Akaviri is in relation to Tamriel?

I don`t know if I understood you well, but:
It`s not official map but I guess it`s quite accurate

I'm not saying all non-Bethesda maps are nonsense, but the distance of Akavir is pretty much random. If I recall correctly, it was supposedly calculated based on the time it took the Imperial fleet to cross the ocean, divided by the average speed on an average sea of what the author believed might have been the average ship that Imperials might have used.

Of course, that theory does not take into account the historically underlit adaptation of the Redguard spinnaker for Imperial vessels, as was common during the second and third centuries of the Third Era. Seeing that the implementation of this new technology may have increased the Imperial fleet's speed tremendously, Akavir could be significantly further than expected.

My point is: it's more or less rubbish.

That's part of Ada's point, there isn't one. There aren't any official maps that show Akavir, we just know it is east of Tamriel. Any map that claims to show how far away Akavir, or any of the other continents, is are complete guess work.

Did the Nirn globe in the Dwemer observatories (redguard or oblivion) have the continents on them?

Probably not <_<

A random thought that popped into my head when I was looking at that map: compared to the other provinces there is a surprisingly low amount of cities in the Imperial Province, while I would expect a larger amount of them there, it being the centre of the Empire and all. Maybe it's because most the area is a jungle ^_^

The actual answer: the first game never established cities in the Imperial Province...at all.

You've been informed.

If that map is anywhere remotely close to the true distance, Akavir is very far from tamriel...

I hear it's only 16 miles away. Yeah, you're suffering from mortal mental stress.
