Fallout 4: San Francisco

Post » Sat May 14, 2011 2:19 am

Okay Fallout fans,

So we've been on the East Coast, now Vegas and Hoover Dam, now isn't it time we take on the NCR at their premium compound in San Francisco?

I propose that SF be the perfect location for Fallout 4 for the following reasons:

  • Alcatraz is perfect stronghold for a climatic showdown
  • Multiple islands for factions to occupy
  • BART subway perfect for ghoals and ghoal town
  • Fisherman's Warf perfect for Murklarks
  • City perfect for different factions and sub quests
  • With naval base and military it's perfect for Vaults and strongholds

Very much like the gold rush, loot prospectors could come from all over to chase the dream of free money in heavily fortified and booby-trapped institutions.

Would be more fun with Communist Ghoals attempting to occupy the city from inbound shipments from China.

That's my 2 cents anyway. Thoughts Forum?

As others have pointed out http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/San_Francisco was in FO2 and they http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Shi run the place.

Also just a heads up FO1 takes place in southern Californa LA is the Boneyard. FO2 takes place in Northern Calfifornia with locations in Southern Oregon.

What is with the predilection with the west coast that the die-hards have? Fallout universe is not limited to the western USA.

I wasn't aware anybody in this thread were insisting on Fallout being Western-only. I do prefer the West Coast however, IRL and in Fallout, but I am open to other locations.

But yeah, San Francisco was (possibly still is) controlled by the Shi. "NCR's premium compound" would be in or next to Shady Sands, which is actually not that far from New Vegas. In fact, Vegas could have been a Fallout 1 location given its proximity to where it took place.

Should we be following the F1 or F2 map as canon? There are a great many inconsistencies with the F1 and F2 maps, including Shady Sands being farther north and west of its original location.

Good question, there are some fan-made maps that combine them and they work rather nicely, so I don't think it should be much of problem.

I say F1 map is the true map. But it's not like they were moved hundreds of miles to the northwest.

Edit. Oh wait, they were actually moved southeast quite a bit.

The one on the wiki says otherwise.
