Is it possible to download Daggerfall on MAC?

Or is it time to throw this excuse of a computer into my neighbors window with a very crappy battery set inside?

If you mean install and play Daggerfall on a Mac, I assume so. There's a Mac OS version of DOSBox after all.

Alrighty. Now to translate Bethsedas weird instructions. Which seem to have no use for me... blah. I will figure it out somehow.. just got to use a wrench and smack the screen a little until a idea comes. :toughninja:

http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=21&t=479044&hl=&view=findpost&p=6877868 might be a bit easier to follow than the PDF on the download page. But they're not Mac-specific (do you folks even have a "C" drive?).

Follow http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1012957 instructions, replacing every instance of "c:\dosgames\(etc)" with "~/dosgames/(etc)". You still want to mount a virtual C drive; just use this method instead of the one posted. For instance, to mount "dosgames" in your user folder as a virtual C drive:
mount c ~/dosgames -t freesize 1000

This will mount "dosgames" in your user folder as a virtual C drive with 1000 megabytes of space.

~/ points to your user folder, so as long as you have the dosgames directory there everything should go pretty smoothly.

Yeah, ~ points to Macintosh HD/Users/Whatever is your user folder. Also, the slashes go the other way. I have no idea why. http://dosbox.com/wiki/DOSBox_and_Mac_OSX

Once you get it running, combat requires right clicking, which you do with clicking whilst pressing down the beloved clover button. Or you could just change the controls around.

I'm playing Daggerfall emulated on a Mac and it's working just fine.

The one-button mouse thing always drove me crazy on Macintosh. I think for games it might be easier to plug in a two-button mouse, since the left hand is often very busy at the same time.

http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1014070&hl= also helps out for bug fixes.

The Mighty mouse (which is what I think you're referring to) svcks. It is by far the worst Apple product I've ever used. I have right-click set to two-finger tap, and a PC mouse works like it would on a PC. I wouldn't use a Mighty mouse if it was given to me.

Nope. Never touched a Mighty Mouse. Nobody seems to like those things, so I think it's safe to stay away. You're quite right about PC mice. The last few times I used a Mac I just plugged in whatever USB mouse was around. I discovered how well they work when I was mad at somebody's eMac back in the day. The eMac was like the ugly twin of the iMac that was locked in the cellar. :D
