Hi there,

today i dug out Daggerfall in the net, installed the dosbox and got it running. Played it 12 years ago and loved it. Stopped it then because there was a bug crashing the game when i used magic weapons, but i loved and needed my magic weapons, and this bug wrote into savegames too, so months of playing ended with this bug. Id like to know:

a) is this bug removed or still in game ?
B) i have a huge problem with going up or down stairs. I stuck always and only moving right-left and jumping helps me, and this is a pain after a while. Do i do something wrong or is it something with the settings maybe ? Im sure its not a bug because 12 years ago i had this problem only once a while and then only for short, but this time is really bad.
I should mention, whenever my char "hangs" at a stair, he gets into climbing mode. Maybe i should get better in climbing then ?
Or maybe its because hes at lvl 1, short on legs or something.

I haven't had magic items crash the game on me. Then again, I don't recall seeing that in the old days, either.

This bug happened as i enchanted most or all items in equipment, maybe the game was just overwhelmed with enchants

Back when you originally had that magic weapon bug, was that prior to patch 213? If so, it's possible the bug was fixed.

Not sure what version i played, but glad to hear they worked at it, so chances are high the bug is gone.
