I feel exceedingly stupid to have to ask this. It's been so long since I've played. But I just can't figure it out. No matter what merchant I go to in Gothway Gardens (sp?), all I see is "Talk" or "Sell" and sometimes "Repair." I've tried changing "modes" with F1-F4 but that doesn't seem to help. What am I doing wrong here?

Talk to bookcase.

In the stores you should see selves in the room with the merchant, click "activate" on those.

Oh dang I knew it was something simple. Figures Daggerfall would be more realistic than the other games in that sense. Thanks guys.

Also feel a little silly you didn't do a search, where this question has been asked before in these threads!

I did try searching. However the search for this forum does not allow for words with less than four characters. So "buy" does not work. Though I just tried "purchase" and that came up with the result needed. Oh well. I didn't think of it at the time. If you're worried about useless threads cluttering up this forum, a moderator can delete this one now.

You're actually VERY right about the search function, damn the 4 letter min limit!

But then you try to do that in real life. Talk to the bookcase (people start looking at. What idiots!) and then put your money where the item once was. Then when you try to walk out of the store, they call it stealing.

I didn't mean use the search, I meant just looking through 3 pages of threads where the topic you needed was probably on the first, because that's where it normally was and that's the obvious "Veteran Tips for Beginners".

Ya know what I mean.
