Arena - Memory List Blown!

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 12:11 pm

I've been playing Arena recently and was leaving a dungeon after completing a quest. As i left the dungeon and selected a nearby town to fast travel to. Upon reaching the town, my screen goes black and brings up the message "Memory List was Blown!". Obviously there is no way to get back the lost data, but i want to make sure it doesnt happen again. I searched but came up with little info; seems to be related to Arena not having enough lower memory. some websites suggest freeing up as much memory as possible and "loading drivers high". I have absolutly no clue as to how to do any of that.

Anyway, I'm running win 98se and playing Arena DOSBox .73; my questions are, does anyone know exactly what causes that error and how would i go about "loading my drivers high" so i could free up more memory for arena?

That whole "loading drivers high" thing was a DOS only process back in the days. I'm not sure if/how it applies to use under DOSBox and Windows98SE. It may be something you can do in DOSBox directly, but I suspect it already does it by default.

DOSbox only uses as much memory as you set it to. If it is a memory problem, you could try increasing the memsize option in the config.

It is 16 by default, so try increasing it to 32
