"Lieutenant, I still fail to understand why we can't explore the old sewer system." said Isenes. He was sitting in a small, creaky chair that was quite uncomfortable. The lieutenant was sitting behind his desk, reading several papers while smoking a cigar. He was not paying any attention to Isenes's remarks, which was starting to anger the ranger. After another minute of silence, the officer let go of the paper he was reading and looked Isenes in the eye.
"Listen ranger, I'm spread thin and far. We're getting more and more rebels sprouting up everywhere, which means I have to start distributing my troopers everywhere. That means I have very few men to spare for a petty exploration mission. I have no idea whats down there that has been scaring the locals, but to be honest, I really don't care. For all I know it could be some crazy deathclaw running amuck. Unless you can convince the colonel otherwise, you will not be allowed to explore those lower levels." After the man had finished his speech, he stood up and left the room, leaving Isenes fuming.
Isenes left the strip. If the troopers could not help him, maybe the rangers at Camp Golf could...
