Good or Evil

My character is ruthless good.

Against killing innocents, but if someone is in the way, he has been known to arrange.. accidents.
Maybe involving a high bridge or an apple that unfortunately turned out poisoned.

Good? Evil? Neither, I prefer the term 'Morally Ambiguous', and if people see me as good or evil for my actions than so be it.

Good, for the most part, but my thieves cross the line sometimes with "a little of this, a little of that". I do usually make one evil character, in order to play through the assassin questlines, though.

I like to roleplay all of them, but my first character is always good.

I role play both. One is a good paladin type and the other an evil mage type. It lets me explore 4differnet playthroughs with 2 characters

Hmm.... I usually play good characters. However, I also play good characters that sometimes become kind of neutral (or kind of evil-ish) because it just happens. For example, one of my fav Dunmer characters from Morrowind was a generally a good person, but she will kill if she has to. (She joined that one group in which they kill for honor--can't remember how to spell it, lol). My Altmer battle-mage/healer would avoid killing if she could, but some quests force her to defend herself and she would feel awful afterward. She would never do anything like the Shivering Isles quests. My most recent Altmer character in Oblivion was supposed to be as good as that previous Altmer (she's the sister), but she ended up being more aggressive, bad-tempered, tough and neutral/morally gray. Thus, she ended up killing people in Shivering Isles when it was required in quests with no regrets.

Most of the time, though, I play good characters. I hope to play one in Skryim. =)

Any, depending on the character I play.
My first in Skyrim will most likely be neutral, mybe with a touch of evil.

Well... In Oblivion I am a good fighter, a holy crusader with zero infamy. But beneath that righteous facade is the leader of both the Thives Guild and the Dark Brotherhood. So I would say that he's neutral, or at least lives a double life.

Well my Altmer mage, lets see will do whatever he can to get what he wants he tries to avoid murder but if there is no other way to get an ancient or rare or powerful item the person in his way is dead. He steals but covers up his tracks he is wealthy he is a famed alchemist and a tarvling merchent if you will or an explorer that sells his unwanted or needed goods, he steals to get something he cant buy, he bribes the gurads to advert their eyes from any misdeeds. He is on a quest to save the nations of the empire in times of struggle, also he is on a quest of knowlage he want to explore the empire and know all of its secrets. He shadows himself behind his good deeds to the world and works his wrong doings in the background, he has muiltple children from multiple women he does not tell his children about his secret life they only know the paragon which is the face he display to the public. That is why there is no good or evil for my character its about gain and advancement.

The character personality you described would have the chaotic neutral alignment, maybe chaotic good or true neutral, hard to judge from so little.

what i think is that the MQ is a barrier to all of us who dont care for it and want to roleplay a personal type of character, like for instance, im a necromancer, so my main goal playing the game is mostly revolving around necromancy, raising undead, creating a lair and collecting dark artifacts like, tomes and black soul gems, ect, and getting a real theme to your role, so for people who dont care much for the MQ and only want to venture the world roleplaying what they want to be, they should create the option fr a MQ delayer, so you can just go about your business, without being annoyed by the quest updates and ect, i think the main quest is gonna be cool but i dont care for being the hero of the world, its a cliche, and its so overrated, i want to do my own thing, right of the start with no penalties of a forced guided direction telling me this is what i have to do and play, it takes away my freedom, and skyrim is going to be a vast landscape, rich with so many places and people and such, bethesda should provide a option for a MQ delayer it would be cool so people who like the hero of the world story could do it and people like me who just like adventuring without a care dont have to.

i voted good because i usually like to be seen as a hero and besides it makes you more likable and get better prices. every now and then i like to be evil but i just end up killing everyone and then its not so fun with only guards and essentials living

Even though there are more restrictions to it (most notably in reference to the Knights of the Nine content) I have noticed myself playing a good characters more recently.

The appeal of evil characters has more or less worn off due to the fact that in most games, this seems to be based purely on randomly committing murders for the sake of getting some sort of evil physique or being able to mess around with the game a bunch. Although I will admit that the evil guilds in Oblivion had much better questlines than the good ones (Dark Brotherhood especially).

I enjoy the sense of justice that most of the good paths provide, and the fact that the game adds certain new challenges, such as the willingness to restrain from things such as stealing items, even if it means having to deal with more limited funds, equipment, etc. Plus the fact that the journey is not quite as easy or based around "gaming the system" tends to make it somewhat more rewarding in the long term.

More of a badass good guy. I will do the good storyline in games like New Vegas but I won't hesitate to kill a bad guy instead of sending him to jail. More ruthless in actions but good in speach.

I don't start my characters knowing what their morality will be, I let it twist as I go. That's what roleplaying is too me, I take up the consciousness of my character, I become him/her, and make the decisions that I/Him/Her would make.

Right now, I'm a young women that was falsely accused of a crime her assassin father commited and, for years, was abused in the prison by Adamus Phillida, effectively turning her into a broken human being. Shortly after being given freedom after the whole Uriel Septim spiel at the beginning of the game, she sought refuge in a cave but encountered vampires. She narrowly escaped death, but was stricken with vampirism, further warping her mind.

So now she's (understandably) a serial killer that does things to her victims that I'll not mention here after killing them and capturing their souls with a black soul gem. I originally intended to simply keep them as black soul gems, but I couldn't name them individually with the command console, so I decided to just take the shoes of each of my victims and then enchant them with their soul and just name it "[victim's name]'s soul," thus ensuring that her victims remain a part of her forever. She then keeps each trophy from every kill by placing the pairs of shoes on a shelf in the Vile Lair. I also use the command console to add a human heart to my inventory after every murder, pretending that she cut the person open and took his or her heart as a keepsake to be eaten later in the comfort of the home formerly used by her recently deceased father.

I justified her skills in stealth and murder by coming up with a story about how her loving assassin father taught her those skills. It just seemed silly that she would be able to do so well in the Dark Brotherhood, plus not get caught killing (I think) over sixty people by now. You know, I don't know why I bothered to type all this out. Still, it was fun just to share the twisted [censored] I like to do in my game. :P So, yeah, I like to play evil characters.
