weather affects

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:58 pm

After having read a lot about Skyrim being a place of extreme colds, I believe it would be quite awesome if the developers considered adding seasons or different weather to the game that can affect the main charecter. For example, being caught in a blizzard or snowstorm while out in the wilderness can slow you charecters movement speed or decrease his/her stamina. I don't know, just somthing like that would be pretty cool and was just wondering what the community would think about it.

Maybe just as a cosmetic thing. I remember ash storms in Morrowind being kinda cool but kind of a pain in the backside too. A fight in a snow storm could be a very, very cool thing, but I'm not sure having it effect stats is a good idea.

I'd love this, along with having to dress warm for the climate or risk getting ill if you spend a long time outside with no protection from the elements. Maybe in a hardcoe/survival mode?

This was partially discussed in my last thread- so yeah. Snowstorms are confirmed? I remeber reading that from the GI article I think.

and its Effects - affects is how it affects you. So the title is bad english and does not make sense.

I would love different weather effects...i would love those effects to effect the player character.
Maybe not in a big way,but to some extent anyway.
We need to find out more about dynamic snow & the wind effecting water etc.
IF snow builds over time, that should slow us down...natural currents, and wind should effect our swimming etc.
We will have to wait and see,but i like the idea.

or perhaps staying out in the weather could increase the charecters resistances to what they are exposed to and perhaps give them an advantage when they fight enemys in extreme weather conditions

Should have thought that if adverse weather effects are in, and not only in a hardcoe mode, then this would be covered by a perk or two, maybe athletics/acrobatics if they are combined instead of shelved.

nords and khajits should have more resistances to weather effects (khajits have fur, nords are used to the cold)
