Is there an in-game formid finder?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:31 am

I used to mod for oblivion and there was an ingame formid finder (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16704) but I couldn't find anything for fallout3. Anyone know of one? Thanks, -d.

Edit: The use of the word "formid" was used in context with a programs name that I used to use. I'm looking for a program that will find a BaseID in-game.

I was under the impression that one could enter console mode (~), highlight the object and press Enter to see the FormID displayed. Is that wrong?

Yes, sorry I misworded the question...I meant baseid, not formid.

No mod that I know of. But if you have FOSE you can open the console, click an object or person and type GBO.
I use it a lot. http://fose.silverlock.org/fose_command_doc.html#GetBaseObject says what it does exactly. That whole page is handy, now that I remember where it is :)

Nice, that does almost everything I need...I wish it could pull the base item above by selecting an item with the pipboy open(while in console). There are some good functions on there though. Thanks
