Personality decreased after entering The Shivering Isles

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:09 am

Hey everyone
I'm new to the forum
but I've been playing the game for awhile, I just finished the main quest about 2 weeks ago and immediately after,
I started playing Shivering Isles. After playing for awhile, I suddenly discovered that my personality went down and the number is marked in red.
I went through my items and armors to see if there's something I'm using that's decreasing my personality, but found nothing at all.
I also tried praying at altars in churches across Cyrodill, but it doesn't help.
Does entering The Shivering Isles makes permanent damage to the personality skill, or is it just me?

It most certainly doesn′t decrease any stats, you must have suffered from a curse of some sort.
You can always buy or create Restore Personality potions that will fix you up good. Visit any Mages Guild or magic shop, someone is bound to have those.

By the way, welcome to the forums and have a http://images.uesp.net//c/c4/Fishystick.jpg :foodndrink:

There are only two reasons I can think of why a chapel altar would not fix the problem:

1. The effect is from an item you are wearing; it seems you have ruled that out.

2. Your infamy is higher than your fame, meaning the chapel altar will not heal you. What are your fame and infamy stats?

Since it's personality, the usual suspect is the Scales of Pitiless Justice that you get from a DB quest. As you don't have to "equip" it, it's easy to overlook as a cause. It should show up on the active magic effects tab, just like anything you're wearing or wielding.

This is exactly what I was going to say as well. Also note that the impact of this "device" is not shown in the active affects listing where they're usually listed - because it's a special item. It's VERY easy to overlook this item.

Drop everything, then look again at your stats. This should see if it is an item or a piece of clothing, if not go with the first idea and buy a potion.

Good luck in the forum. Have fun with Sheogorath
