GOTY

I've never beat Fallout 3. Starting a new game, only did 1 quest in Megaton, disarm bomb, and I'm 1/4 of the way to level 5. I have not installed the DLC disk. Should I install DLC or wait till later on or until I've completed the main quest?

Any benefits or setbacks of installing the DLC this early?

You should definitely install before you get to the latter stages of the main quest, say after going to Tranquility Lane (don't think that's a spoiler) because the ending is very sudden and unsatisfying otherwise.

That sounds familiar. I've played the game before, and I think I got right up to the end but just diddnt feel to finish.

Thanks for the info

Might as well install Broken Steel right now. Save the rest for later is what I always do, but you can go in any order. They are all similar to SI and KotN in Oblivion, format-wise. You can start them whenever, but they're completely separate story-arcs.

I would, because they really don't affect the game aside from a few radio stations. They are optional and Broken Steel allows you to play once the game ends. All others can be done as soon as you leave the Vault or after 80 hours of game play. In this sense, they do not generally affect the game, especially in your current state.

Plus, Broken Steel raises your level cap from 20 to 30.

Operation Anchorage will give you Power Armour training, so you don't have to go to the brotherhood by doing the main quest line. You also get some good stuff at the end. Point Lookout has a large game area and more quests and one that connects to the DC wasteland. The Pitt give you another game area and quests that are not black or white. These three also give you new enemies to fight. Broken Steel gives after the end game play and adds more enemies to the game world and more Enclave. Mothership Zeta gives aliens to fight and some weapons.

I'm on the 360. I can choose to install individual DLc's? I dont have to install the whole disk with all DLcs in one shot?

Go ahead and install them all, you can decide if you go to them or not anyway.

It's been a while since I've played on the 360, but I think you have to install all of them. If you've got the disk space to spare, it's not going to hurt anything, and you'll get the Broken Steel level cap bump.

As already noted, you don't have to play any of them if you don't want to.
