Gore Bags

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 10:54 am

I was in our lady of hope hospital when I came across a gore bag and thought about how they always have good loot.

I like to think they are like happy meals for super mutants. A meal in a sack with goodies inside lol.

I think that the Muties just take a bunch of human remains and stuff them into a bag for later. All the stuff on them would be in the bag too I guess, so that's what you find.

Is that a location in DC wasteland, or the hospital you work at?

Yes, it is in the DC wasteland. I would hope to never find a bag of gore in a hospital.

Maybe Gore Bags are like Knapsacks and Super Mutants keep all kinds of random crap in them like human remains for nourishment and bullets for their weapons?

I thought they were Mutie hidey-holes. They hide their goodies in there to try to keep them safe from random Wastelanders. Because really, would you be rooting around in a fishing net filled with rotting human carcasses while 8 foot tall green monsters with guns are nearby? Nope, not me. Their caps are safe.

What do Super Mutants need caps for anyway? :P

To buy people from salvers?

I always thought the gore bags were freaky, they made a friend of mine jump. Imagine going ot your friend's house, he's playing a new game and then he walks into a tent and you see a fishing net with a hand sticking out of it. Hilarious.

You scavenge whatever was in the pockets of the dismembered guy(s) in the gore bag is what I've always thought.

Nasty business fishing around in them. I tend to leave them be.

That's a good question! We could probably fill up an entire thread speculating on what they spend their caps on.

My guess is that its a small remnant of their humanity. Mutants who were once wastelanders probably vaguely remember attaching a great sense of purpose to those little shiny metal things, but they can't quite pinpoint what it was. So now they just pick em' up and store them somewhere without really understanding why they do it.

Kinda sad really.

Why Super Mutants keep caps...in language understandable by humans above the age of 4.

Mutant 1: "We need green stuff!"
Mutant 2: "Oooo...Shiny Bottle Cap!"
Mutant 1: "GREEN STUFF" *Slaps Mutant 2*
Mutant 2: *gets mad and throws bottle cap at Mutant one. Impales Mutant One's eyes and it slowly bleeds to death*

And THAT is why Super Mutants carry bottle caps. Why they don't throw it? They throw it at other mutants, not humans. Why fix what isn't broken?
