English Project: Short Story

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:31 pm

Ok, so my English teacher dropped the bomb on us today, the unit project, or benchmark. This is worth like 25% of my grade and stuff so of course I'll make it good, but on top of that unlike the rest of my class I love writing stories. Right now I'm thinking of two ideas:

I want this http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1107652-discovery/-esque second person narrative in which you are the main character and you go through stuff and stuff. I suggest you all read it, its very very intriguing but unfortunately unfinished. The only thing with this iI wouldn't want to be jockin' his style.

I also would like to go all The Road (by Carmac McCarthy) style in which its just a child and a parent together, but at the same time that's much like my current story Protege.

But I'm open to anything anyone would want to see.

....So... let me get this straight... You want us to think of a idea for a story, so that you can use that idea to write said story for your English Project, and take credit for said idea?

....

Sure, why not!

Here are some ideas.

.A Portal-Parody using Vault-Tec.

. A story told through the perspective of a raider.

. A story about a Super Mutant that works at a grocery store in New Vegas (Wahh)

.A horror story that involves either a vault, a ruined city, or a mix.

.A story about what the Fallout world would be like in the hometown you live in.

The world has been destroyed and your carrying the last potted plant in existence. Guard it with your life and plant it somewhere with pure water and lots of sunlight. Humanity is depending on you.

Wait. I like that one. I might use it myself.

Or you could something like By The Waters of Babylon.

Though for a short story you could do...

...A man trapped in a super market filled with psychotic people and he/she must escape.

I don't have much right now I'm afraid.

I like that potted plant one, it remind me of something just like it (and not the book of Eli, there was an actual story about a potted plant....ph WALL-E!). I really like the horror one two, and as far as the super mutant and raider one, my teacher has to read this stuff so I don't want it to be carnage central and she may get lost with the super mutant unless I really do a good job with the back story and such. It's definitely not impossible though.

Please, more ideas!

I could use that plant thing for s specific evolved type of water or something though. And I like the portal parody, but that MAY go right over her head, and I simply cannot write GLaDos in all her witty beauty

Well, I actually started this second person thing, which I really think you guys will like. I may do the other one as well, I just saw it harder to do for this project because my teacher hasn't played fallout and all that would be a pain in the genitals to explain.

Who knows, I may do a poll thing.
