"I hope so," Her voice was barely above a whisper, either through sheer fatigue or nervousness. "Yeah ... it's ... well, I can't really imagine, to tell you the truth. My family they--" She stopped abruptly, about to clap a hand over her mouth before letting herself speak. No ... that was something that she could not reveal, not just yet. She didn't want to remember it.
“Looks like we might get there quicker that I expected” Jason said as he looked at the new vegas hotels....
Kathy nodded in agreement, looking out at the silhouettes of buildings - ghosts of their former glory by now, no doubt, if only because thopse left on the streets were surely dead, and those inside ... well, she didn't know what they might have resorted to.
----- 7 Hours Later -----
She breathed in and out heavily as she stepped out of the car, shivering, this time, due to the temperature. It only made sense really.
"I really hope it is ... I mean, I could be a mass murderer for all the guys inside know," Kathy grinned joking. "I'm now of course." She added hastily. The fact of the matter was, just about anyone could be a killer these days ... even kids. She approached the front doors slowly, looking around as she did so. She would liked to have felt as though the air was clearer up here, but it was not so - the same smog found a covering everywhere North and South of there, although admittedly, it was thinner. Things almost felt ... normal.
Biting her lips, Kathy stepped inside the lodge, the spacious foyer looking surprisingly void of destruction, given the circumstances.
"Hello?" She called out, the volume of her voice surprising her. She hadn't spoken qite so loudly in a while -since she had flagged Jason down at McCarran Airport, in fact. "Hello?" She called again her voice echoing around they foyer, bouncing off the varnished walls. "I was just ... wondering, who's here?"
