Are septims still the main currency?

It's been 200 years since Oblivion, so that's plenty of time to adopt a new currency.

hmmmm .... Im not sure. Just because the empire fell doesn't mean they would change the currency straight away.

keep in mind they have been using this for the past few Eras, so chances are they might still be using it (just won't have the significance of belonging to the empire)

This. I don't see why they would dump the Septim and begin producing a new currency when it's been accepted by all the provinces of Tamriel as the universal coin. Then again, I could be completely wrong and we have a new currency in Skyrim :D
