Broken Steel Questions *No Spoilers, Please*

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 11:50 am

So, it seems to me that Broken Steel is the best DLC for me. It is between FNV or FO3 GOTY, but comments have left me feeling that FNV could be a letdown while FO3 GOTY would be a sure thing.

So these questions are for Broken Steel. Does the DLC add a lot of content, a reasonable amount, or not much? By content I mean two things:

1. Models, meshes, and textures
2. Story

Finally, does the story follow the same vein as FO3, or does it veer sharply off course?

A reasonable amount. There's a few new creatures, not much in the way of new weapons of armour, but a fair amount of new story content. It will add several hours of playing time. But most importantly, it allows you to keep playing after you've finished the FO3 main quest and raises your level cap to 30.

The story picks up right where the main game left off. It's pretty seamless that way and just continues on with what was started in the original game. Plus there's a few new side encounters here and there. All in all it's a pretty good expansion.

I would suggest getting Point Lookout if you want the most content.

Yeah, a lot of people liked Broken Steel but I found it a let down (the story wasn't nearly as deep as the rest of Fallout 3) and if you can get it GOTY then go for it but if your downloading it I'd say you should get Point Lookout (my favorite) and/or the Pitt (my second favorite).
