What Should the Commonwealth Android army and Railroad look

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 1:45 pm

If we ever go to the Commonwealth what Armour, guns.lasers and appearance do you wan't the factions to have

Snych Retention Bereu,an obvious nod to Blade Runner, I think these guys should wear Big long Black leather Trenchcoats,
The Commonwealth police, should wear blue combat armour with logos and such.

The railroad should wear,Brown dusters like the Regultors in Fallout 3,

I don't think Vault secuirty Armour would offer much protection to the Androids circuits theyd be fried if it went on fire because most of the uniform is clothing.

I thought the point of Androids was that they were basically metal-skinned humans? circuits? wut?

I never liked the android Idea it doesn't seem to be in the realm of possibility in the FO universe. Just look at the "latest" robots from pre-war. Nothing close to the miniaturization needed to produce a robot that small.

We ARE talking about MIT, and Vault City has some of that fancy junk, implants are an example of small technology possible in Fallout.

Androids are just synthetic humans, they have synthetic hair, blood, organs etc.

so whatever we wear they can wear and they receive probably the same amount of damage

I'd like if it would look similar to the Vault Security armor, but more high tech and power armor-esque.

The Commonwealth has an entire army of androids? I didn't think they had that many.

In any case, I think androids are certainly believable within the confines of the Fallout universe; if the Institute survived the Great War even somewhat intact they would no doubt create some incredible things with 200 years of unrestricted research.

Considering even Obsidian thinks it appropriate that the Fallout world have http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Sierra_Madre_vending_machine that can convert Fission Batteries and Scrap Metal into medicine, clothing, alcohol, ammo and more, I don't think Bethesda's android's are quite as far-fetched as they used to be.

I thought it felt strange, too. It's like the vending machines and holograms in Dead Money, or the amazing Pip Boy itself; it just doesn't feel right. I don't mind high tech in fallout, but it should be, I don't know, chunky.

I understand, in game, why these things could exist, by the way. They just seem anachronistic, like they snuck in from another game.

I would like to see older android models, like really clunky and only parts of them look human.

Guys, you know Terminator, the first one? Maybe the human looking part is just a layer.

I know, I really dislike Dead Money for that one thing, even androids are technically more plausable in Fallout, hell I'd even say Liberty Prime is than a comercial vending machine in a casino of all places that can literally turn metal chips into anything!

In regards to the Commonwealth I still dislike it as an idea personally, androids are still silly, like Harkness saying he cut himself shaving, does he grow stubble? I just think the idea of an android which pressumabely has all the antatomical functions as a regular human being, enough to hide the fact from himself and everyone else, to be too much, just a reference taken way to far.

Indeed, just look at the machines needed in the FO universe to contain AI's

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/ZAX
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Shi_Emperor

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Skynet

Is the only thing that had a processor that was small enough, but it still used a robobrain body (that is chunky)

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Humanoid_robot

I think would be the closest they could come to human sized robots.

Um, no. Last I checked the Legion doesn't extend to New England.

"Wacky" ranks up there with "50's Pulp Comics" in terms of people trying to justify everything, people Fallout has rules, just because the background was based on absurd sci-fi doesn't mean it can contradict it's own lore.

The androids should have a couple of variations.
1. The prime model, this one is like Harkness, completely human, nothing about them will show that they are in fact synthetics unless you kill them at which point a beige like fluid will pour out instead of red blood.

2. The advanced model, this one is very believable, very human like, but you will notice if you keep a veeeeery keen eye about it that they have small subtle hints that they are not humans, maybe the way one blinks his/her eyes, maybe the way they repeat a certain movement, maybe a dialogue bit, voice interference, very small subtle hints.

3. The efficient model, this one looks a lot like a human but their mouths are not in sync with their voice all the time, they also never blink and their skin is a little yellowish.

4. The work model, this model is a little more human looking than the one's in I Robot but their cables and metal plating shows in certain areas of their bodies.

5. The past model, this model is no longer craved from anyone since it's very twitchy and can spaz out over random things, they are being scrapped by The Institute who wishes to erase them completely, only "skin" they have is along their forearms, fingers, some on their torso and their face and scalp.
The skin is completely white.

I think Railroad should look kinda militia'ish.
They have their own kind of uniforms but there are a good amount of variations of them.
I'm thinking yellow, red and dark brown as main colour scheme for their uniforms.
They have ranks, all displayed by a shiny silver looking marking on their chest, like a medal of sorts.
Should wear hats, like those confederate hats in PL, red.
Black military boots on the one's with a higher rank, black and red sneakers for the troops, and their special division (scientific or whatever) usually has those green anti-rad boots from FO1/2.

Y'know, its vaguely possible, if you can accept a conspiracy involving Pinkerton & the railroad, that Harkness wasn't an android at all, just a brainwashed human. Maybe they didn't want his head back, but what was in it (i.e., evidence that the Institute isn't all it cracks itself up to be).
Staggeringly unlikely, I know.

Guys, Fallout has reduced the size of fusion reactors to the size of a baseball... i think they have the "miniaturization" thing down flat.

This is how I think androids should look: piles of goo, riddled with plasma and laser blasts, cuz the enclave went in there and killed all of them. Oh, and Dr. Li's body can be laying in the corner, too.

Finally...closure. I always knew Enclave would accomplish something I would celebrate. God bless the Enclave and their purge of Androids. Hooray.

Android army: piles of twitching droid endoskeletons, after being saturation bombed by EMP weapons. Once the endoskeletons are delivered to The Pitt, piles of electronics spare parts and steel ingots.
The humans from the Droid Freedumb Failroad: piles of giblets and body parts and blood smears on the ground and walls, after being dealt with by The Enclave

edit: add additional info of droids final fate.
