Essential Mods for the PC?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:54 pm

I'm running Fallout 3 on my PC and the specs are: Core i5 750 2.66GHz, 4gb RAM, ATI 5770, Windows 7 Home.

I have been trying to play Fallout 3 for some time now, but I cannot stand playing it for so long. I feel sick and queasy after an hour or two. I heard there is a FOV mod and maybe there are some other mods that will make the game more bearable for me? I cannot stand the constant jiggling and shaking of the camera, like if my character walks over a small rock, the camera has to move up/down for about 2 inches just to 'simulate' that, going up/down stairs is even more of a pain! Anything to smoothen things out would be great!

I can stand the 3rd-person view a lot more, but unfortunately, I can't shoot worth squat in that view and have to go first-person, and that's where I get all dizzy.

Any help appreciated.

I seriously doubt you're going to find any mods that will help you with your problem frankly. It sounds like you're suffering from motion sickness and it's not very likely there's anything that will help you for that. Sorry to say it, but it probably just isn't the kind of game you should be playing if you have that much of a problem with motion. You probably won't be able to play any FPS for that matter, since they pretty much all try to simulate realistic movement in that way.

FOV stands for Field of View and can be changed using the console. Finding a good setting does help with the motion sickness for some people. Worth a try.

There aren't any mods, though, that change the base way movement happens in the game.
