Disabling the Error Messages

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 9:57 am

Hey,
I was just wandering if there is any way I can get error messages not to appear when loading, etc. and how to stop it. Simple question really.

Well it depends on what type of errors you're getting.
There are many different types. Some are harmless, some will break your Save file. Some are easy to fix, some will take a lot of work to figure out.

But there are tools (the main one being Wrye Mash) that can correct most errors.

I'm using Animated Morrowind (1, 2 and Expanded) and I get an error telling be that some characters are missing a toe or something. It's okay if the error comes up when the game is loading. But if I move into an exterior cell with Animated Morrowind NPCs in it, the error appears in the Windows format, which crashes the game.

Use LizTail's AnimKit to use the "Fix Animations" function.

Oh awesome! I downloaded that a while ago to get an animation pack. Didn't know it could fix errors. Thanks a million.

Also that if you set AllowYesToAll to yes in your ini file, you only ever have to deal with one error message. If that comes up during game load, then you won't see any others during gameplay.

Although it is definitely best to just fix the cause of the error. ;)
