FRA bend problems!

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:18 pm

Well, at first in FO3 after using the IRONSIGHTS mod, my followers bent while they shot in the game. Well, now, it has moved to my character. I've reinstalled FRA at least four times, like Rougehallow says. Well, could anyone seem to help me out? Oh, and for the record, I don't have RH_IRONSIGHTS as an esm or esp, but it is animations stay for SMGs, Shotguns, and Pistols, and Vanilla guns.
Anyone know how to counter this?

Can't say I can help, but you might have more success in resolving your problems if you ask in the comments section of the mod on the nexus (I'm assuming you got it from the nexus).

What I think the problem might be though (and without really knowing), is that you haven't fully uninstalled the mod. I've a feeling that besides any esm/esp, RH_IRONSIGHTS drops a bunch of animation files ( *.kf ?) in your C:\..\Fallout 3\Data folder somewhere. I would go back to the original archive (zip, rar, whatever) and have a look at where and what it adds, so you know what to remove from C:\..\Fallout 3\Data.

Hopefully, the mod author has written some useful uninstall instructions in his readme/description.

I uninstalled most of the .kf with IS on there, but I still couldn't lose the animations. Thanks for the help.

yeha you haven't uninstalled all the animation replacement files. you'll have to check through every single file.

I don't believe RH_Ironsights changes any animations, and I really have no idea what you mean when you say your actors are 'bending'.

All FO3 weapons are able to handle the look-down-the-sights view, but many are not properly aligned to the sights.
All Ironsight mods (Like RH's or Alexscorpian's) do is move the model using nifskope to ensure the view properly lines up.
I don't use RH's mod, but I do use Ironsights view for every weapon, as I feel its more immersive

If you dont want to use this view, then use the GECK to enure that the 'Don't use first person animations' box is checked on each weapon.

This is just a shot in the dark since I am not really knowledgable about kf files, but aren't they modeled around a skeleton? There are some mods that replace the skeleton.nif file. I would try removing that if it is there just for the sake of troubleshooting.

Assuming this does work, would this fix the snapping problem in Third-Person or would it just disable the ironsights?

All right, if anyone who uses Fallout Re-Animated could tell me which .kf files are the ones for Assault Rifles are, you'd be a lifesavor.
