Has anyone made or discussed an onscreen map?

Is there a mod for an onscreen map, similar to dragon age? I searched for a while but couldn't find one. So if there's not one, is it possible to make one? I'm pretty much a novice modder(but have experience programming) and haven't learned a lot about geck yet so I thought I'd ask here to see if it is even possible before I dive into it. Thanks for any help guys, -d.

It sounds impossible, and I don't think it has been done for FO3 yet, but they somehow http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26220 so maybe it can be done.

I don't know if it would be easy to port a part of it or if it would have to be made from scratch entirely...

Either way I don't think it's a suitable project if you're new to modding, but maybe someone else could have a look.

I didn't even think about looking at a tes4 mod, thanks. I've worked with oblivions cs so I'll have to download that mod and take a look under the hood.

That won't do you any good. That map is only possible because of an OBSE plugin called Pluggy, and FOSE has nothing comparable in order to make it work in this game. You can't do it just by using the GECK alone.

What you could more or less easily do with the current scripting means is to create a map that shows some items of interest relevant to your location.

Immersive but informative user interface might be what you're looking for.
