prone

Post » Sat May 07, 2011 1:01 pm

If I'm the heavy defending the door from being blown and the rest of my team goes down, I drop to try and keep myself alive long enough for a medic to res them/heal me, or for them to respawn and get to the front.

I'm an Op sneaking along to complete an objective and I hear footseteps rushing around the corner, so I prone behind something and watch as the other team SMARTS over me and continues to the front lines.

Without knowing all the battlefields it's hard to say how many other options there may be, but those are the first two that come to mind.

Yea, it's all just speculation. But I trust the Dev's judgement in not putting it in, ya know?
It's their work, you'd assume they know best!

Yeah, but I can name a long list of games that have failed under the weight of their developer's choices.

Like I said though, I'm not going to fight for it in or out (otherwise I would be over at the SD site), I'm just going to fight the reasoning that comes along.

I feel like in a game that is more focused on close quarter combat that going prone isn't too bad of an option. MAG is pretty fast paced and dropping down for cover if even just to have a few bullets miss you so you can go heal yourself/get healed can be an important aspect of tactics/strategy. Besides, who doesn't like pulling off a successful dropshot? lol

No...

Definetely No...

No, im serious!!!

What kind of question was that?!?!?

Brink is supposed to be a fast paced, team based shooter... Prone ruins all of that...
Like so many people have put, PRONE ENCOURAGES CAMPERS!!! And quite honestly, im sick and tired of people hiding under tables where you cant see them, but they can both see and spam bullets at your feet as you enter the area.

This is a great reason for prone to be in a game but everyone knows if you can abuse many will. the cons outweigh the pros in this scenario

^ I hate when that happens, drop shotting is such a terrible way to get killed and it just futhers my point to keep it out.

Last Thing we want to do is give campers a smaller Hit box TBH ... What some clever guy should do is make a game where every time you stop and camp without firing at some one ... Your hit box become's bigger ... I promise you guys will then use cover for the right purpose ... LOL

I honestly can't see prone fitting with the style of game SD is going for.

all the game play videos i've seen, players were constantly moving around. there is also no sniper class. prone just won't fit into this game.

the only reason i like prone in CoD was coz it was a quick defensive option in guns fights. Brink has sliding on the ground which is probably better than prone for gun fights IMO.
