(REQ) Nightime Door Locks

Post » Wed May 11, 2011 7:32 am

Hello Everyone,
First off there is a mod made by Ldones called Night time door locks...you can find it by googling it.
However there's issues with it from what ive read and this mod is very old(old school) but before the issues came to bare it was a fine mod.
Doors of merchants and residents were locked at night and unlocked in the morning, churches and ale houses stayed unlocked.
I feel this mod would add a alot of realism to the game and would be easy to implement.
So hopefully someone will take up thereins on this mod.
Yourd truly,
qwert

ps- different doors would better locks than others....merchants locks would be better than residents and so forth.

No that affects a lot more than locks....i was just requesting for a door lock(night) and unlock(day),the npcs aren't actually affected.
someone could download ldones mod and take his scripts and just slap them on doors.i dont recall if ldones had any stipulations on his mod or not....it would take some investigation.
cheers,
qwert

perhaps the 'Knock Knock Mod' from http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=136072&id=6175 at least that sounds like what you are looking for

That mod sounded good but it only affects 7 small cities....im searching for something that affects all the cities.
thanks for trying though,

Realistically, not everyone's doors are going to be locked, all the time. People forget to lock it before going to bed, maybe they passed out drunk. Maybe they live with a badass (or are one), or have too much faith in the town guards.
Maybe they're so relaxed they never feel they have to lock it. I'd assume that more doors would be locked when someone's not home at all, but that's just me.
Many might even have an alternate door that remains unlocked out of habit, or there's even an alternate spare key hidden outside, close by.
Just saying, I wouldn't lose much sleep over all the doors at night not being locked.

Edit: also, people living in the 'country' areas leave practically everything unlocked out of habit most of the time, especially since there isn't much crime to consider.

let me ask you this, what's the point in doors locking if the NPC who owns the shop is standing around inside at his usual position?

either way, what's stopping you from cutting everything but the locking doors out of this esp?

this kind of thing is very tedious, especially if "seven small cities" is not good enough for you and you want the locks to be different levels.

Best I've used so far is NPC LCV Locks. As pointed by RAKninja, probably it works and feels much better if coupled with its NPC LCV schedules.
Arcimaestro Antares' Knock Knock is also very good, especially if coupled with his No trespassing mod.
Personally I merged the knock sounds to NPC LCV Locks and added the knock sound to Temples also.

Or, if it makes you feel better, open the CS and lock all the doors. You could just say that everyone across Vvardenfell is paranoid.
