Yesterday I was wandering around the wasteland and some scavenger ran up to me and said a bomb was strapped to her. Then she ran away and about one second later she exploded and died. It was really abrupt. Is she part of some quest or is it just a random thing you run into? And is there any way to save her? She was running too fast for me to get her not to mention she exploded really quickly.

these are random encounters, i can never catch up to them in order to disarm them :banghead:

I caught up to one once. Was able to disarm it. Feeling confident, I tried to help the next one.... wasn't able to do it.... left arm crippled.... Now I just let 'em blow up.

This random encounter happens more than once? Or was it another game, cos it happened to me (still on 1st playthrough) and I ran away cos I had no ammo and there were 3 Raiders behind her. I didn't even see if she did blew up or not. But then I didn't even know random encounters existed in the game then, I assumed that (like in oblivion) they'd all be sttod around waiting for me months later when I happened to go that way again :slap:

It's happened to me multiple times.... but only when I'm a goody two shoes. Don't know if this in itself is random or not. It only happens once or twice when I'm bad to the bone.

its a random encounter that happens multiple times.. the NPC with the bomb is always near a small group of raiders... idk why they would just put a bomb on someone and let them wander away... or maybe they used the NPC tied to the bomb in attempt to kill the LW... :spotted owl:

I thought they were some kind of raider-suicidebombers the first times I met them, so I shot them on sight. Now I know better, but they still scare the crap out of me each time they sneak up on me and do their little trick. Morons!
