Need PC Help

Alright, lately my laptop's internet has been acting odd.

The little icon on the task bar says I'm not connected, yet i can still use the internet and stuff.
When i go to open the Network, or the Network and sharing center, it opens the window, but the contents are just white with nothing there. It then freezes and causes windows explorer to crash.

I don't really know what to do, i wouldn't really care if it wasn't for the fact that i can't connect to any networks other than the one at my home, and media sharing isn't working.

Anyone know anything i could do?

This is Vista Home Premium 32bit by the way.

The network adapter is a Broadcom 802.11g Network adapter. Don't know if that helps.

When i mouse over the network icon on my task bar it says "Connection status: Unknown Server execution failed"

Are you using the Windows wifi manager or something else (like HP wireless assistant, etc.)?

EDIT: You might try checking notebook review forum for your specific laptop to see if others had the same problem or read comments posted by others about the Broadcomm driver versions.
