How do I add in the other side of a door?

Post » Sun May 15, 2011 6:43 am

In these two pictures below, you can see that Ex_co_ship_cabindoor only has one side to it. How would I go about adding the other side of the door? Would I have to copy all the parts of that one side and insert them on the other side or something? Can this all be done in NifSkope? Thanks.

Well to answer your original question(as I see Antares has provided a download). You would have to use a program like Blender to do it. The reason the door only has one side is because that side was deleted/never created to save on polys(they likely made it from a plain and if you render a plain only one side is visible). I suppose you may be able to use nifskope, but that would be very tedious at the very least.(I have never tried making anything new with nifskope so I dont know if it can even be done) The reason to use Blender or one of those programs is yes, you could copy a side or at the very least not have to deal with single vertices at a time.

Thank you Antares. What did you use? Blender? I want to learn how so that I don't have to come on the forums to ask. I mean, what if there are 100 doors I want to do this to? It'd be inconvenient to post 100 times on the forums asking for people to make this for me. I already have the latest 32-bit Blender installed.

I used Blender.

You can use any Blender tutorial to learn how to use it. The first thing you need, is the exporter but I believe you already have it. If you don't, you may find the needed files in my animation tutorial.
