Daggerfall with daemon tools?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:57 am

I've finally tried to get DF running on XP.
But this laptop doesn't have a cd-rom drive so i have to use daemon tools, or other virtual cd software.
Anyway i've got df to install using the windowsxp installer.
Have vdmsound installed and Daggerfall iso mounted.
i've pointed the Z.cfg file pathcd to my virtual cd.
But upon running dagger.bat and it complains that i don't have the cd mounted.

Why not just set it up as the nocd that has been around for years? It works better that way anyway.

Yeah i couldn't get that to work either.
So i've tried the Virtual PC route.
Looked promising, i have a copy of Win98.
But i couldn't install it. In my virtual environment i couldn't get the virtual bootable floppy to access my cdrom.
I am using this virtual bootable floppy http://www.portlock.com/products/beta/virtual_boot.aspx
There's no msdex.exe on the virtual floppy so i suppose that rules out cd-rom support yeah?
Know of any other (free) virtual bootable floppys?

Discussion of no-disk cracks and piracy tools will not take place on these forums.
