seeking advice, on extracting a BSA

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 8:21 am

in order to not bug my bosses at skyrim i'm coming here to ask:

how and what do i need to extract a 500 MB BSA?

how and what do i need to put it back together with some added meshes? etc, and textures.

The BSA browser should be adequate.

I recommend using the command-line tools provided with the BSA browser. You can unpack and pack quickly and easily with them.

The GUI is often hard to deal with: it either takes an extremely long time to finish unpacking, and it gives you no warning when it's done, or
it seems to crap out and doesn't unpack all the files. Just use it for browsing, not for real work.

It's not. I would open your taskamanager after using one of the commands and wait until the programs activity stops. Then do it again to make sure it worked. Packing and unpacking BSA's is not at all recourse intensive. However look at the contents of one is.

It's been http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1167542-how-to-extract-files-from-a-bsa/ already. Maybe, you want to take a look.

Here's how I handle BSAs, for example. http://savepic.ru/2395962.jpg, and http://savepic.ru/2400058.jpg.

Really simple, thanks to http://www.ghisler.com/ file manager and http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/gaup.html plugin.

Please, no changes to the BSA, to decide what comes in the BSA or not is only up to the Department Heads, since we reached a more matured level and improved the qualtiy of our resources this is the only way to handle this to make sure that we have a constant quality in 3d Models and Textures.

Thank you for your cooperation
