I'm Looking For Some Updated or Current Mods

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 6:24 am

I've tried downloading some mods... but none of them worked, then I realized they were uploaded between 4 and 5 years ago.... and the graphics enhancement mod I'm using is pretty current. So I'm guessing that's why. I'm using the Morrowind version on Steam, with for all I know are all the expansion packs included.

Anyone, does anyone know of any current mods under the categories of fast transportation, mobile inventory expansion through any means of transporting larger amounts of items, more weapons & armor, additions to trainers or ways of improving skills like archery targets or attack dummies, or even getting an education or what ever.... I'm not sure how that would work, better merchants who have larger cash reserves.

I don't understand the point of having a bartering system if half the stuff I want to sell is more than 5k... and that crab is a pain to get to. I waited 24 hours to refresh his cash and woke up to a diseased animal that attacked me and made me sick... then a group of assassins killed me.... and all I want to do is sell my stuff!!!

I thought about trying that flying carpet mod but its really old so it will probably crash just like every older mod I've tried, plus you have to complete some ridiculous mission just to get it and you have to be "worthy of it". I want to just go buy something and get on with what I was doing, something I don't have to fuss with or role play with, or train or anything. I just want to buy something, and be on my way.

Please can someone help me out here? I've been looking for several days but I'm just getting overloaded with junk results. I feel like I'm in one of those Bing commercials....

There is no reason why mods wouldn't work correctly, or conflict with new mods, just because they are older.
Mods don't age and become corrupt or anything.

It's more likely a mod conflict, poor Load Order, corrupt Save, or just installed incorrectly.

EDIT: there is the chance, of course, that the mod is just poorly made. But those still get made today.

Well I noticed that some of these mods say that the graphics enhancement mod is required... but if that mod's version has changed many times over the past so many years, wouldn't that cause a conflict with a much older mod designed to run with a much older version of the mod it calls for as a requirement?

Anyway, If anyone knows about well made mods in the catagories I asked about, can you please let me know?

Also, I was wondering if there are any mods that allow you to buy a house and place it where you want it? (I'd like a large place to store all my ingredients and loot, sleep, mix potions, etc.)

Do you mean MGE when you say "graphics enhancement mod" ?
And, no. It won't matter.

http://search.yacoby.net/ finds mods for you, so we don't have to ;)

I'm talking about OBSE

Thanks for the link. :) That is much better... but I'm having trouble finding something. Is there a mod that adds some kind of vehicle or transport, that lets you just pick what city you want to go to on a map, and simply takes you there? I'm really hating traveling by foot to find travel services and switching from one to another to another to another to get where I want to go. Its turning into a pain, thats detracting from the experience of the game. I want to spent time having fun... not spending most of my time trying to figure out how to get where I want to go. Because I'm looking for something so particular, I'm not getting the search results I'm looking for.

I don't think you mean OBSE in relation to Morrowind. It stands for Oblivion Script Extender. Perhaps MWSE, Morrowind Script Extender? Perfectly understandable confusion over the two. :)

OK, but are you using the MWSE that comes with MGE? If so, then that's not the issue, because it has the current version.
I think there's only one other older version of MWSE, so unless you found it on some old, obscure site you should be fine.

Note that some MWSE mods can cause instability for certain set-ups. The heavy scripts can cause problems for some people.

I think http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2435 and http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2433 is what you're looking for.

If it's MWSE you're talking about and not OBSE (different game), any mod made for that will work with the newer versions because MWSE is backwards compatible. So a mod made for an older version of MWSE will work with the newer version.
