Favorite Follower...

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 10:09 am

I would put this as a poll, but since mods can make almost anyone a follower, I decided against it.

Amyway, who is your favorite follower? Whether its for battle assistance, company or roleplaying, who would you choose?

For me it has to be Mazoga. She is an exeptional fighter and is a perfect bodyguard for my mage.

What about you?

Out of all of them? Mazoga, for the same reasons the OP stated.

But I still don't like followers in this game.

Modded, it would be Vilja by Emma. Vilja is the most amazing companion I've ever seen in any game. She's so realistic it's uncanny. If you don't watch out you will end up being her companion. ;)

Vanilla, it would be Dar-Ma. I have a serious crush on Dar-Ma. I have often postponed taking her back to Chorrol just to spend more time with her.

Can't say I like tha followers, but if I were to choose one I pick Martin. Being a decent mage/battlemage he is one of the better in my opinion. Biggest flaw is that he is cappable of killing me if I have low health with his AoE spells.

Complete agreement.

Also good are Viconia, Arren, Stoker Wolff, Saphira, and a new one, Fergus. None are at this level, however. Vilja feels like a real person.

Superian is Buffy's precious black mare. She is a wonderful companion and her twin saddlebags carry everything a girl could need.

Runner up: Mazoga.

I expect someday I'll get around to installing Companion Share and Recruit in order to temporarily tag any NPC as a companion.
I expect someday I'll also install Vilja.

So many adventures and so little time!

Companio Share and Recruit is fun as I can hire anyone in the game, and my Mage has hired several FG members, brought along a Mage Apprentice for a mission and have recruited a trio of Legion soldiers to clear a local infestation of vampires as they felt it was their duty to help me.

Vanilla I suppose the Apprentice followers you get as long as they don't run in with their daggers which they seem to do all the bloody time

personally not a fan of followers, never used them. So i will say Shadowmere, the pack mule, I love killing her stuffing all of my loot inside, letting her stand back up, then trecking off to the next dungon, after remounting so i dont need to go find her again at Fort Farragut.

The replacement woman with the goth looking make up from the Brotherhood sanctuary, she looks as though if she died in your service, she would thank you.

Since the game's AI makes most melee followers into suicidal idiots (especially Farwil), I favor those who can hang back and fire spells or summon allies. One I regularly use is Erthor. After you bring him out of the cave, he'll help with the Leyawiin recommendation before you finally return to Skingrad. You need to let him go to complete that quest, so that's usually the final recommendation I get.

Mazoga is too hard to keep alive, if you don't cheat and make her essential, especially when there are will-o-the-wisps around, and she doesn't have the right weapon.

Mazoga, but I have to make her essential, so she doesn't die when Im not adventuring with her. But I make sure to set her to unessential when I am actually there with her.

Modded, Well I do like using CSR and making Bandits or Marauders my followers.

The Adoring Fan in vanilla, he's just funny. Although I tend to leave him at home. Modded, I like to make various CM companions to follow me around.

Hello Pseron, great to see! You are tempting me to reinstall Oblivion again seeing what you write about Emma's companion mod. I admit to being a little partial to https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1502006231535&set=a.1502000991404.2067378.1275578165&theater but I love Emma's work and the way she brings characters to life so I really must try this mod. :D

Note: the link I gave goes to FB because all my screenies are there and no longer on my harddrive--not sure it will work if you don't have an account there.
