In Morrowind you'd eventually end up either using Recall/Almsivi Intervention or knowing the cheapest and fastest route through services to any location and not bother rewalking the same paths. What's that significantly different from Fast Travel?

It should be in as an option, and it will be in Skyrim
I don't use it because I would rather take the time to travel because it helps with my immersion.
If there is a place with a lot of items I want to sell but I can't carry it all in one trip, I deal with that consequence.
It makes me think twice about making journeys. I plan my trips better.
So yes, it is a self impossed chalenge.

Although I would also like to have 'fast travel'-like transportation systems.

If you're making a thread about this topic you probably know a little about the other side of the debate. So why are you even asking in the first place? Is it a rhetorical question?

It's not that there's fast travel, it's that I want it to be implemented in a way like Morrowind, or Daggerfall, where you can use boats, silt striders, a horse etc - much more immersive ways than just opening the map and clicking a location.

That's all.

Because I want to explore and have more' immerssive' way to travel so I don't have to walk.

I don't want to walk everywhere but I don't want instant teleportation to wherever.

Please use one of the other threads on fast travel and read through it so you will have some idea of why. And please lets all respect one another's opinions there as we all like our games just a bit different.
