FOOK2 Weapon Stats?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 9:39 am

The Wiki lists all the Weapon Stats on a page detailing Spread, Critical Multiplier, Damage Per Second, etc., for the vanilla FO3. Very helpful stuff when you want to compare weapons and choose what works best for your needs. FOOK offers quite a varied mix of Weapons, but for me it can get a little confusing. Is there a comprehensive listing of Weapon stats for FOOK Weapons similar to the Wiki listing?

FOOK has it's own wiki, but it's not complete. You can grab Kai Hohiro's (Maker of FWE ;) ) Weapon Scanner mod.

Or depending on your needs, there is a mod that allows you to see a weapons stats in game. Not the meaningless damage number an unmodded game gives. I forget the name, but one of the fook team created it.

However, if your need is to simply see which type of item has the best stats, using the geck is the safest and quickest bet. All the weapons are neatly organized by type in a fook2 weapon folder. Very easy to see which type of mini-gun is the 'best' type for example. That personally is my preferred method of choosing a weapon. Its also fast, and always accurate as your looking at the mod itself rather then a spreadsheet that may not be updated.

I put a Weapon Identifier Database Thingie into FOOK2 beta 2 (which is on its way out the door as we speak). They are distributed throughout the wasteland wherever guns are sold - - but the items themselves are not sold, they are simply distributed by the dealers. They sit around on the desks and things and can be freely taken usually.

When you turn it on in your inventory, whenever you equip a weapon that FOOK recognizes, you get a little message telling you basic stats about it. Such as: which skill the weapon requires, how nice the weapon's type sorta is, and the generally expected range of use (followers use that distance data religiously, other NPCs/creatures do to an extent).

There's also, in Beta 2, a "Small Guns Encyclopedia" you can buy off of vendors who sell small guns. It has quite some information about all the small guns class weapons FOOK recognizes, including max DPS for the model. Is like a book - - meant to be like a book - - you have to page through its sections if you want to look up a weapon - - not magical fairies delivering gobs of information upon a click (like the weapon database is). One of the details the encyclopedia contains is max Damage-Per-Second (DPS) the weapon's exact model is capable of (this DPS apparently takes into consideration the 0 damage period while you are reloading the weap). It does NOT discuss any uniques, however. Those are meant to remain up to you to explore and learn the caviats of.

I hope noone asks for magical fairies to insta-deliver all of the information about each weapon that the encyclopedia contains in an instant-on sorta way cause I'm not up for it. Open the "book" and read if you want encyclopedia-level knowledge about somethin k. I'm making one of these for Big Guns and Energy Weapons for the next release (Beta 3/Final whatever it is).
