"your rest has been interupted"?

Sure. When outside or in potentially dangerous places.

Since the OP doesn't seem to want to be helpful to those who don't know what the poll's about...

In Morrowind, if you'd sleep in the wilderness you'd get a random chance of having your rest interrupted by a creature (Hostile or Passive)
The creatures were only dangerous to low level characters though. But, still, it encouraged the player to rest in safe areas.

I'd love the feature to be back. But for this, we'll also need to have health that does not fully regenerate after 1 hour of sleep/wait. And, first and foremost, we'll need to be able to sleep in the wilds too, instead of being forced to wait.

It would be even better if you could be attacked by bandits or higher level monsters too.

Gonna assume...

A) This is about whether or not things should be able to interrupt rest and waiting.
BA) English is not your first language,
BB) or it is and you aren't very experienced on how to use it.

Gonna assume...

A) That you can't understand that there is no need for a speech when a few words can describe it.
B)That just because there was one sentence it doesn't mean that he doesn't know English.
C) or, you just never played Morrowind.

The first thing that popped in mostly everyone's mind in this topic is Morrowind and how sleeping could be interrupted because a monster happened to pass by and notice its dinner is lying on the floor in a forest etc.

Why being a [censored]?

Apart of this:

Yes. My sleeping should be interrupted.
Would be cool though if it would ACTUALLY be illegal to sleep in cities, hence unless you find a hidden place guards could find you. Or if you sleep on the road you can wake up naked or something because someone stole your clothes etc. (And then your agility or something would decide if it wakes you up or if you just keep sleeping.

I went to the outside of that smuggler cave right close to seyda neen (the one with the slaves near the silt strider) and a Nix hound appears, first time I ever saw one. And sooo you can imagen the rest.
HAO! HAO! HAO!

Oblivion had something similar, for example the start of the thieves guild when the Dunmer woman would approach you and give you the letter. If you happened to be waiting or sleeping, you would be interrupted. I hope they don't do that again though - suddenly waking up in my own house to find a Dunmer woman standing over me was pretty damn creepy. Don't break into houses and wake people up just to have a chat, that's my thing!

Yes please, in wilderness or if you have annoyed the assassins' guild (in which cas there could be a chance, based on some skill, that they would wake you with a sneak attack that would take you down to quarter health).

And slower health regeneration while resting.

And include crippling, and inability to get back to full health while crippled, unless you have a very advanced restoration spell or some doctor equipment. But that's veering off topic...

This is where I want the medical skill to come into play. If you have low, health, it takes longer to heal when sleeping or waiting, and you can be interupted. So if you have high medical skill it takes less time to heal, and therefore less chance to be interupted.

When sleeping or resting, it should be randomly or periodically interuppted when:

1. Outside, either in the Wilderness or in a City/Town

2. Inside, only if it is an important plot device that moves or starts a quest

3. Exception to above only for assasins sent by someone in the game as a result of a quest or quest line.

I am not sure if the player's home should be treated as a sanctuary from all attacks or not, or if you could "upgrade" the security.

Resting was a big deal in Daggerfall. You could get into some pretty dangerous situations where you were unable to rest (due to monsters nearby) and every time you tried more monsters would spawn to attack you. I really despise the idea of regenerating all of your stats instantly with 1 hour of rest and no risk. I'm also not in favour of real-time regeneration of any stat by default. It's fine if you are able to gain such an ability but it must be very rare and/or hard to get in order to be meaningful (vampirism, lycanthropy or some rare item).

no, our hero should just lay in the snow, snoring loudly as a dragon flies by, lands next to him with a loud crash into snow and rock, then let loose a thundering roar right in his face, then proceed to eat him alive.

we failed the world, but hey... atleast our hero got his required eight hours of sleep.
