Man, and I'm still waiting for Project M. This reminds me of Peter Molyneux. He promises huge, ambitious masterpieces, and they wind up to be either cancelled or very generic and uninspired.

At long last I have found the missing answer to controlling where, how, and when anything and everything is drawn.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3SHBPEvfFU

Very soon I will post a video of a practical application for this discovery .

It seems to me that your manipulation of colours suggests that a pair of Heat Vision Goggles might be possible? :disguise:

(I think it was better demonstrated in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLc4UCM8vmM )

Just an idea. :)

Have you ever heard about Helmet POV by schlangster? One of the features it adds is Heat Vision and EMP Vision.

Get awaaay... :o

I've heard of it, but didn't realise he'd added such effects to it - thought it was a visor type thing. I'll have to check that out when I start picking up power armours.

Cool ! :)

You know Nilla, I'd be more excited if you had actually delivered me my Squirrel, until then I'll leave you with my state motto. Show Me, Show me you can actually finish something, Please. There is no point in being an Idealist, if your ideals never become a reality.

Mr. Moe, the Third Type, Flat Toe, and others... I have release many mods in the past even after being accused I never will.

So the question is, how many are still up for download? Well I remember a certain creature mod, which titled Warbird. Anyone else remember? The bird that launches nukes!

Download it from FilePlanet, yes you can . http://planetfallout.gamespy.com/mods/447/Warbird-version-1

Watch a video that proves it still works, yes you can. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXuHimNs6Us

Submitted February of this year, yes it was...

February less than months ago, yes.

I'm having a hard time understanding pretty much anything happening in this thread.

What is the point of the complete control? complete control of what? The water level is the only thing that made even a little bit of sense to me. The first video just looks like chaos. Couldn't all that be modded in and the character just stands there?

The warbirds ... what?

Yeah I'm confused as well. NillaCakester keeps coming up with these cool little things, but so far I haven't seen much of it put to real practical use. It's more like a series of tech demos.

A mod that's been downloaded exactly one time since submission, has no user rating or feedback, and one that I would have no interest whatsoever in using in my game, based on the description (what there is of it anyway) that you provided. Is that the best you've got?

I'm lost, what exactly is the point of this? The real question is, are we going to see realistic water level changes that actually affect the environment, the PC, and NPC's, or not. If not, then.... what?

I think people are being a bit on the harsh side, here.

I'm of the opinion a person will release a mod when and how they damn well please, and it's not right for us to berate a modder on it. Modder's don't get paid (or at least, they shouldn't) and don't have to do anything at all.

Nilla, as far as I'm concerned, this is a stepping stone to better things. I look forward to when you find how to apply these new methods into something that'll drop jaws. The rain thing sounds brilliant, too! Once you figure out how to do it for Fallout, Oblivion won't be too far behind in following in your footsteps.

Hey now people, even though we haven't been able to play any of this testing in our games, doesn't mean that we should discourage him either. I can say that I haven't been able to do anything cool as these tests in my game, have any of you? Let the person learn, cause Rome wasn't built in a day. We don't know if he will discover something that will really help our game. He sure does know a heck lot more than I do.

Let's change the question, Nilla: Do you have any mods people give a [censored] about? Y'know ones that don't look like urine-covered, faceless pterodactyls? Having a mod with no comments and one download is like having a gun with no ammo.

You cannot force me to rush perfection. Be patient.

When it is done I will release a mod. Very rude that you people claim I never release mods, when in fact I have released many . Those I do release are completely ignored.

I hope when I am done eating my lifesaver gummies, watching alien/ufo videos, drinking kool-aid, and have gone swimming that your attitudes change.

Also the good apples, you know who you are! Thankyou Miss Sparkel and Ashven.

Where are your released mods? What web site? Links? Are there any [RELz] threads of yours on this board with meaningful releases?

Are these mods which a user can load up in Fallout Mod Manager (.esp files or .esm files) and run with the game? Or, are they executables? .DLL files?

Are the mods able to be loaded in the GECK or by FO3edit?

What about the video screen thingie you had in Vault 101? And the automap-looking thing?

By the way I think this thread's topic is deceptive and a giant exagguration. Hacking an .exe in the way that you have != complete control of it. It's... hacking it. Affecting it yes but it doesn't qualify as "achieved COMPLETE control". Complete control is when you have the source and the compiler to make it work. eh????

Asking for some links isn't a bad thing, is it? I just want to see what mods he's released...

*checks 2nd page*

Well, that's one.

Hacking the.exe? Dude that is the not the way to think about it. There is a reason that respectable programs like FOSE do not modify the .exe .

As for needing the source code of the game for complete control over the graphics, well that is plain wrong. DirectX SDK folks!!!! DirectX is used in many many game engines, and it was used in the case of Fallout 3. The D3D9 functions are ultimately what needs to be called for anything to be drawn to the screen.

The video screen thingie, did have a release and it was more than a .DLL. I included a plugin too! The only thing you needed to do on your own, was find a movie you like, convert it to raw .avi and be sure it has the proper dimensions. At the time I had thought people just didn't want to go through the trouble of testing that video mod, but it seems you just don't feel my releases are "meaningful".

So... I will keep in mind from now on that when you think a release is not meaningful that is synonymous with it never being a release.

The whole of this topic is getting out of hand and going nowhere fast. A lack of substantial information seems to be the main cause.

OP, when you have something you are prepared to release and share with the community you can post again on the topic, until then this topic is closed to prevent any further problems and unnecessary comments. (Posts have already been deleted).
