Where are your released mods? What web site? Links? Are there any [RELz] threads of yours on this board with meaningful releases?
Are these mods which a user can load up in Fallout Mod Manager (.esp files or .esm files) and run with the game? Or, are they executables? .DLL files?
Are the mods able to be loaded in the GECK or by FO3edit?
What about the video screen thingie you had in Vault 101? And the automap-looking thing?
By the way I think this thread's topic is deceptive and a giant exagguration. Hacking an .exe in the way that you have != complete control of it. It's... hacking it. Affecting it yes but it doesn't qualify as "achieved COMPLETE control". Complete control is when you have the source and the compiler to make it work. eh????
Hacking the.exe? Dude that is the not the way to think about it. There is a reason that respectable programs like FOSE do not modify the .exe .
As for needing the source code of the game for complete control over the graphics, well that is plain wrong. DirectX SDK folks!!!! DirectX is used in many many game engines, and it was used in the case of Fallout 3. The D3D9 functions are ultimately what needs to be called for anything to be drawn to the screen.
The video screen thingie, did have a release and it was more than a .DLL. I included a plugin too! The only thing you needed to do on your own, was find a movie you like, convert it to raw .avi and be sure it has the proper dimensions. At the time I had thought people just didn't want to go through the trouble of testing that video mod, but it seems you just don't feel my releases are "meaningful".
So... I will keep in mind from now on that when you think a release is not meaningful that is synonymous with it never being a release.
