[WIP] As Archcanon

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:14 pm

I have an idea for a mod that I hope to make am making.
While playing as my Patriarch of the Temple, I figured there isn't really much that I can do.
So far, I have made a retextured blue and white robe for the Archcanon to wear (Tholer Saryoni and Gavas Drin wear them too). Saryoni gives you his robe from his own back and then wears his default, purple one. Gavas Drin (Lord Archcanon in Mournhold) always wears his Archcanon Robe. Some dialog has been fixed:
- Tholer Saryoni doesn't introduce himself as the Patriarch when you are.
- Gavas Drin will introduce himself as Lord Archcanon and Archpatriarch (yes, taken from these forums :) )
- Temple Masters will not ask you if you've been lax in your duties if you are Patriarch.

Now I'm trying to think of ideas for some things that the Patriarch can do. So far I have a small list:
- Get a new robe from the previous Archcanon
- Get a personal Ordinator that will follow you into battle,
- Get blessings from Lord Vivec,
- If you've finished the Morrowind Main Quest, tell people about the reorganization of the Temple,
- If you've finished the Tribunal Main Quest, tell people about Almalexia and Sotha Sil,
- Teleportation between Temples,
- Give Sermons to lower-ranking members (pretty much everyone) in the Temple.

I'm also hoping to get some ideas for quests that can be given out by Gavas Drin (or little requests from Tholer Saryoni)...

This mod will require Tribunal. What this topic is for is to gather ideas for some things that the Patriarch can do, or feedback on what I have so far.
Note: I am aware of the "Patriarch's Privilages" mod, and that's partially what gave me the inspiration for this.

What about keeping up with the property taxes? Shouldn't the patriarch be discussing financial situations with the accountant or some legal advisor? I don't even know where your temple is at or what temple it even is, but I'm sure they all pay taxes on the land they are built on.

The Temple, there is one in almost every city and everything not owned by the Empire or a Great House belongs to the Temple. So taxes should be fun! :celebration:

Some ambassador-type stuff might be fun. Maybe act as a peacemaker between the tribes or the Houses.

Okay, sounds cool.
So far, I have done the following:
- Ordinator bodyguard named Gavas Sethryn.
- Teleport between Temples (for a 6 gold donation to the Temple).
- Vivec can cure Posions, Diseases and Blight Diseases. He can also restore your skills and attributes (saves a Temple Leader going to an Imperial Cult Shrine)
- You can recite the Graces of Lord Vivec to Temple Members and they get the Shrine effects for 60 seconds.

- Expand the office of the patriarch or give him a separate residence.
- Quests to denounce heretics
- (Post MQ) Reconcile Temple to Dissent Priests.
- Inspect temples.
- Recieve thithes from various temples

For a really advanced scripter would be establishing temples in towns that currently do not have one (Maar Gan, Khuul, most Telvanni cities, etc.).

I dunno, make up with them, having a group...... something.

Another cool thing would be the ability to Excommunicate someone. I dunno how that would work necessarly. For one: lowers the dispossition of someone really far down, but another coold effect would be people around that person want to attack him.

Might even be reintegrating Holomayan monastery back into the temple.

i've done a bit of this. i've implemented collecting tithes and spending them to expand influence. eventually i'm going to expand to using that influence.

good to see you're going into more detail, i just focus on giving things for the heads of various factions something ongiong to do.

I'm allowed to bump now right?
I'm trying to come up with an idea of what I can do with the head of the Ordinators (forgot his name). Any ideas on what I can do?

I'll have to release 2 versions. One stand-alone version. And one for use with A'sBM.
