Wrye Bash and total mods

Will Wrye Bash tell you if you reach your mod limit? It's kind of hard to tell how many mods I'll be installing in total since I am doing a FCOM installation. Will it say after install if I have too many mods?

No. Just do not have more than 255 plugins active, and do not have more than 300-400 BSAs and plugins installed in your data folder. I do not think Bash allows you to activate more than 255 plugins. It runs out of hex indexes just as Oblivion does (capped off at FF.) However, I have not tried testing that...not in a long while anyway. The other limit is not even solid, so Bash could not figure that cap out for you anyway. Be smart with your mod management.

I guess it's time to go through and streamline my mod selections, then. Thanks.

People don't usually hit that 255 mod barrier even if they download mods excessively. However, if you think you're somewhere close to that, all you need to do is open up Wrye Bash and look in the lower right hand corner of the window. It will tell you how many mods you have and how many of them are active. Keep in mind that you can't have more than 255 mods active at a time, but you can have more inactive ones. :)

I didn't know if you knew that or not already. If you did, great! :goodjob:

The bottom-right corner of the WB window has a the / info. The more closer you get to that limit, the more unstable the game is going to be. My count read 210/253, and I want to keep it around there. I do not want to exceed 225 active plugins. That is just a random barrier I have set for myself, but you get the idea...
