Formal Clothing mod

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:54 am

I've converted two of the most beautiful formal dresses made for Oblivion to Fallout. I think they fit much better into Fallout world as it is a modern world, than into a kind medieval world.

Name: Ashara's Formal Clothing mod

Category: Clothing
Requirements: Fallout 3 Patch 1.7
Author(s): Ashara

Description
===========
This mod adds two of the most beautiful formal dresses ever made for Oblivion to Fallout 3: Flonne and Gizmodian's Fantabulous Dress and Terry Malick's Ball Gown, and also a shorter version of Terry's Ball Gown for less formal occasions.

You can find the dresses in a wardrobe in Tenpenny Apartments (see screnshot for the location). I've added the wardrobe to both versions of Tenpenny Towers, so you should be able to find it irrespective of the decission you've made regarding Tenpenny's quest.

You can repair all the dresses using any of the other dresses or any of the normal clothing (prewar, spring or business clothes) you can find in Fallout.

The default version of the dresses has some clipping in certain poses. If you don't like that, you can use the No legs patch that replaces the default meshes with ones that have no legs under the skirt, and then show no clipping.

The dresses are made for Dimon's Type 3 body.

These are just beautiful...It's a shame you didn't make them, I'd ask for some elbow-length opera gloves. Thank you so much. :)

Thanks TeeHee and Thorbjoern :) I couldn't have done something so beaufitul, I am not that good ;)

I'll try to add those gloves. Making the meshes is not difficult, but making the textures match the quality of the dresses may prove impossible for me.

I've added some gloves to the mod. Opera gloves to match the long dresses and shorter gloves fot the shorter dresses. :)

I've spent some time trying to rig a shawl, but, sadly, it has proven an impossible task :(

You've got me seriously considering downloading Type-3.

I just wish that everyone could wear underwear EXCEPT the Player Character. I mean, the biggest reason being I don't want naked gored bodies left and right. I'm not going to have that happen to me. I'd like to say in my capable hands, my female player character possesses more skills than your average raider.

Hmm, but I just might get an underwear version until that wish happens. These dresses are nice.

Thanks 3rd Type :) I am glad you liek the dresses.

You can make your character use different textures than NPCs by making a new race that uses specific body textures.

Hi Wolf,

I've written a tutorial in Spanish on how to make clothes for Fallout:
Part 1: http://videojuegos.clandlan.net/videojuegos/index.php/Tutorial_Crear_una_armadura
Part 2: http://videojuegos.clandlan.net/videojuegos/index.php/Tutorial_Crear_una_armadura_2

If you want to convert clothes from Oblivion to Fallout (only from mods that don't use vanilla Oblivion meshes or textures and with the permission of the original authors, of course) the process is the same except that you don't have to create the meshes and textures from scratch :)

Also these threads contain useful tips:
* Tutorials by Jaysus: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=82738
* Custom meatcaps tutorial by SickleYield: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/974284-fallout-3-custom-meatcaps-tutorial/page__p__14074821__hl__blender__fromsearch__1&#entry14074821
