Item/Armor effect glitch?

I am new to g.e.c.k. functions, but I have searched pretty extensivley for an answer to my question without any luck.

It's really just a minor issue, but I am curious if anyone has experienced similar problems and if there was a fix for it.

The issue is I created a new item edit for a piece of armor. The armor had Button's wig effects added to the properties. I then deleted the item from my data file. Apparently it's not a good idea to do that if said item is equipped to the player at the time.. My player character now has the Gentleman's Demeanor effect on the status effects page permanetly. I looked up the Id for the effect and tried to remove it using console commands along with the Id for the deleted item. Disabling the data file does nothing to fix the issue either. I was able to edit the effects of Button's wig, but that changed nothing on my status effects page. The issue is not just a display bug either, the effects are altering my character stats(even stacks with Button's wig). If I go to data details I can account for all items created and deleted except for one FLST type, which I cannot find.

I messed up twice here because I didnt have a good back up save..doh! Like I said not a big deal (not worth restarting) but if anyone knows any tricks I'd be much appreciated.

Try looking under data\backup for a backup of your mod that still has the object you deleted. Then re-enable it in game and equip/unequip the item.
