An old movie and New Vegas

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 10:41 am

This movie had so much of New Vegas in it I couldn't believe it. The movie was Chevy Chase and Las Vegas vacation, it's the first time I've ever bothered watching it and that was because I heard Blue Moon being played Then on came another song from the game, then a person who's name I recognized as being one of the voice actors, then all these places and highways that I'd run around in. I got a real kick out seeing this stuff, I must admit though seeing Neon lights of "Caesar's" Palace I had to restrain myself from commenting in case someone thought I was crazy.

Funny how a movie that takes place in Vegas and a game that takes place in Vegas would have so much in common....

That guy from the movie that does a voice in Fallout New Vegas is Wayne Newton and he playes Mr. New Vegas.

Thank you so much for your sarcasm. Funny how they play those two songs Blue Moon and Kick in the Head in the movie and in New Vegas as well, plus they both have the Hoover dam in them which isn't actually in Vegas or is it. The movie was made before they started on Van buren which is another of the reasons I found this so interesting. I knew who the voice actor was, I wasn't mentioning specifics to avoid spoilers.

All of those things are fairly standard Vegas fare. Kick in the Head was one of Deano's bigger songs, the Hoover Dam is an American landmark that most Vegas tours include, and Wayne Newton is called Mr. Las Vegas IRL.

I never got why Ceaser never took over Ceaser's Palace. If I had made the game I would have had him made a little diffrently. He would deffently have been set up in Ceaser's Palace

Because Caesars Place was not built in the 1950s. It was finished in 1975. Timeline changed after the 1950s so the Vegas of our time, the one with Caesars place, would be different as in there was no Caesars place in the Fallout Universe.

Wow I didn't know that, when I went to Vegas last year I went into Caesars Palace thinking why didn't he set an outpost here, but this explains it.
