How do you change a....

I've been playing Morrowind for years now, and I've just started to play Fallout 3 on the PC, however I'm having some trouble with nifskope. Here's what I'm trying to do, I'm trying to change this http://img291.imageshack.us/i/dog1.gif/ skin texture to this http://img148.imageshack.us/i/dog2.gif/ skin texture and remove the "head clamps".

Now I"m no expert with nifskope but with Morrowind meshes I knew how to add and change textures, as well as a few other things, but I have no clue what to do with this http://img810.imageshack.us/i/dog3.gif/. Morrowind nifs had the NiTexturing property which had a base texture attached to it, but the nif in that screen doesn't use the NiTexturing property, and it seems to me that the texture is determined by numbers that are entered as the NiTristrips value. So I'm clueless, can anyone give me a hand here? Please?

Turn on 'Block Details' and look at the BSSHADERTEXTURESET block.

You should also goto the toolbar, >Render >Settings...
On the pop-up, click the button 'Auto Detect Game Paths' so it will find the textures automatically.

A simpler strategy may be to use http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/TextureSet. This also has the advantage of reducing the size of the mod, as you only have to include the new texture, instead of texture and model.

Thanks for the reply WillieSea, that helps alot and to Zumbs, I've tried using texture sets with a tutorial but it only covered objects like guns and armor not creatures and from what I can tell changing a creatures texture is different from changing an objects texture, but then again I don't have much experience with the GECK I'm more used to the TESCS

You cannot use texture sets on a creature.

Anytime I tried to use a texture set on a furniture object, the GECK and the GAME will Crash when the cell is loaded. Otherwise, texture sets are a good thing, but as PoHa! said, you cannot use them on creatures as there is no option to set a texture set on a creature NIF.
