I voted for completely original character. Nothing in any game has compared to the bond Helena and I have formed. I found myself genuinely fearing for her life the other day.
I doubt that would have happened with an unoriginal char.

As much as I grinned at the idea of Chuck Norris, I had to go with the completely original character. There is nothing quite like creating a new story from scratch.

All those options are awesome. Didn't think anyone would think of roleplaying as Talos. Original characters are awesome but come on people its Chuck Norris!! Heres a suggestion:

It amazes me that I still see Chuck Norris jokes in 2011.

Anyway, completely original characters all the way. Nothing beats them. Someone you build up from scratch, learn their likes and dislikes, their behavior when faced with various situations, considering their innermost thoughts and desires. It's like making a friend.

I did play as Tadrose Helas once. I wanted to try a two-handed sword fighter, and do the FG guild questline. So she was a natural fit. Also I must confess that she is the heart-throb of Teresa, another one of my characters. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/oblivion/Oblivion127.jpg Of course the game does not tell you much about Tadrose, so it really was like playing an all new character. When it comes down to it, I was just using the face and name of the character in the game.

Imperial guard and original character should be joined since to create a guard you have to make a original character. Take my retired imperial guard, Glaudius Arcadia for a example.

Lucrezia LaChance is the Gay Fox. Poisoning the men and doing more interesting things with the women, she cuts a swath across Cyrodiil in her steel bikini and black hood, riding a black panther, as she seeks to avenge that weird guy she met in her cell in the prison (totally nuts, thought he was the Emperor!) She really didn't care about him, but vengeance lets her get away with murder and generally having fun. She might let that Norris wimp tag along, if he can behave himself, and not get in the way too much.

A mountain climber. Somebody who could actually reach a certain shrine to get a certain artifact for a certain main quest. That would be extraordinarily compelling. For me. I guess that qualifies for the "completely original character" option.

Or maybe it would just be easier to play as Chuck Norris so I could punch my way through those [censored] mountains to Azura's Shrine.
