GOTY Script Tidy

Does this give noticeable performance gains?

Well a quick read of this thread would make that a yes. In fact, this mod should be a must have because of what it does. It reduces crash number by quite a bit by streamlining code and correcting errors originally made by Bethseda.

I didn't find an affirmative from my reading of the thread beyond the author's assertion. The fact that it isn't included with BTB's or povuholo's lists concerned me (as both of them commented in the thread), and the philosophical discussion about comments and indentation (which really isn't a debate if you are a developer) seems to have derailed the thread.

I'll check this out though.

The mod has documentation talking about MPP 1.64 and extra esp's supporting MPP 1.64. That doesn't sound "independant of the patch project". And are you seriously claiming that the patch project doesn't change scripts?

Here's what I'm worried about specifically. Per the readme.txt

1. "GOTYMinImpactSomeMPP.esm (or equivalent .esp)... This includes Morrowind Patch Project changes to corrected scripts just where applicable"

Obviously if it includes 1.64 changes it won't have 1.65b changes. If applied after patch 1.65b, it could cause fixed bugs to reappear or, worse, cause incompatibilities.

2. "Use... GOTYSTMPPPatch.esp loaded AFTER MPP"

Same issue here.

3. "GOTYFullTidySomeMPP.esm (or equivalent .esp). .. This includes Morrowind Patch Project changes"

Same concern here, but I suppose 1.65b might end up making needed overwrite to these script changes.
I guess the last option sounds like the best one for 1.65b users, even though the readme says that option is for those who don't use MPP.
There could still be incompatibilities with the 1.64-like changes and the 1.65b patch.

So, is it safe if I use GOTYFullTidy ZeroMPP2.01.esm only, but with the following tweaks?
delete script "Vampire Aundae"
delete script "Vampire Berne"
delete script "Vampire Quarra"
delete script "alvisTeriScript"
delete script "nemindaScript"
delete INFO #122... "By murdering Alvis Teri ..."

Or will doing this break other things?

I don't want to use the special LGNPC or VGreetings patches.
