Started playing Fallout 3 again...

Wow, what an experience, at first I thought New Vegas destroyed this game in every aspect but now that I play it again, I was proven very wrong... Any one else playing this again? And I recommend to those who are bored with New Vegas to take a crack at this again, its GREAT!

New Vegas does put Fallout 3 in a somewhat bad light in many areas, but IMO, when it come to exploration, random encounters, and enemies to kill, it leave a bit to be desired.

...However, I am playing Fallout 3 again (approx 85 hrs in) and am enjoying it immensely. Maybe I will pick up New Vegas again, but I have found it to be a bit lacking; not that I hate it, it's more a bit of disappointment in what could've been much better had they had more time to develop it.

Each game brings something different to the table, however, the overall experience of FO3, especially with mods, is the hands down winner in replayability, scope and immersion. I feel more immersed in the DC wasteland than I do in New Vegas.

I wish they used their time more wisely in NV in order to make you feel like you there instead of feeling like you were moving from set piece to set piece.

I think Fallout 3 is better by far, and I've been playing it on and off since it came out. I keep trying to get into NV but I just can't for some reason. To be fair, I have not played the original Fallouts, so perhaps that has something to do with it. Fallout 3 is one of the greatest games ever made in my humble opinion. :fallout:

I've been playing the past few days, I finished BS and have gone on a walk-a-bout. I thought the same thing, and it took a few minutes to get badck in the swing - but yeah - still as good as it was before. I just picked up RDR, but am thinking about putting FO3 back in. or Oblivion.

Fallout 2 has a slow start. After the temple I went right back to the DC wastes.

Replayability? Exploration, replayable?

Immersion? You must hate knowing how people live in the wastes.

I've been replaying Fallout 3 too. One of my favourite games of all time. I never tire of its nicotine skies.

I love fallout 3. After being utterly disgusted with not being able to finish new vegas due to to crashes, I started on 3 again. The characters are better, the quest are better. Everything was just better, you can definately tell that new vegas was rushed and thrown together. I've been a gamer for 30 years, and I think this is the best I've played, except for the bugs and crashes. Would like to see more add ons or a continuation on the capitol wasteland. Awesome.

I never played FO1, but really enjoyed FO2 and finished it twice.

Fallout3 IMO is an absolute masterpiece. Now granted, without a few key mods, I found it waaayy too easy and fast levelling, as well as a bit lacking in immersion. But with just a few of the best mod compendiums, FO3 is quite possibly the best game ever made. PERIOD.

I played the heck out of it a year or so ago, and just burned out from sheer repetition. Plus, I didn't have all the DLC back then (GOTY was pending IIRC) and I didn't want to finsh it without those.

I bought GOTY a while back and finally installed it a week or so ago. Spent my long weekend getting reacquainted with the Wasteland. My current character is about halfway to Level 6 (using Extremely Slow Leveling). With all DLC installed, and all the mods I want running, I anticipate it will take me 6 months or so to complete everything in the game.

I like to play Dead is Dead in Oblivion, and normally play that game on about half-difficulty slider.

I seemed to recall I was pretty good with FO3, but even on Very Easy, _and_ with familiarity with many of the scenes/spawn-points, etc., I've still been unable to play without getting killed. Old age slowing the reflexes maybe?

I was SOOO DISAPPOINTED, when FONV required Steam (won't use it myself). Ah well, sounds like maybe I'm not missing too much?
