Ultimate Morrowind Anti-Mod

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:44 pm

So I was thinking of http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2644&comment_page=1 to help my framerate, but looking through the comments I see some people mentioning cave entrances for which statics are very obviously missing - one guy had a screenshot of a cave door that no longer had its "entrance" static at all and and was just a stray door floating around underwater. Does anyone know if this mod ever had those problems fixed? I'd love to be able to clear out all the statics that I really wouldn't notice gone, but if there's issues like those cave entrances I'm not sure I want it.

I use that mod. Maybe it's because I don't spend much time underwater, but I didn't notice any anomalies.
The bad news is, I haven't heard of any update since that comment about awkward missing statics, so it's probably still there.
The framerate boost is very nice though, especially in Balmora. (My previous PC always had very low fps there, until I used the anti-mod)

I recommend you use the http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=utilities.detail&id=22 instead.
It has the option to "Hide objects that are currently small"

Crates, flowers, small rocks, lamps, etc, are not rendered until you get near them. This way, no objects are deleted from the game but you still get the increased performance from not having to render everything at once.
(you can even adjust the distance and preferred size in the advanced options)

:) are you on a netbook Plangkye? There's nothing sadder than wanting to play with mods and have your machine have a frame rate meltdown over it - How many mods are you trying to run at the moment?

I wouldn't quite call it a netbook... it'd play Mass Effect if it had a graphics card only one step better. I don't have FPS issues anywhere except in big cities and even then it's still playable. As for the number of mods I'm running, mlox reports 197, including the three main .esms, Mashed Lists, and Merged Objects. Even then, the number is kind of inflated due to several of those files being mods that have several parts (Book Jackets/Book Rotate, LGNPC, etc) and some of them being compatibility patches.
