PorridgeIsGood's Modding Challenge

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:43 pm

Dear people of the forum,

Many wish to learn modding. I am no exception.
So I ask this. Would anyone (of limited experience) be interested in creating a project from scratch, polishing it and publishing it, with me as their partner?
Message me if it makes you giggly.

I'm sure it'll be fun!

:D

No, but we are willing to help you when you get stuck. Start your project, and use this thread for questions. It will be more beneficial to you.

Allow me to clarify.

Modding is, by far, easier to learn on your own with the right tutorials and a little help from the modding community when you have questions. Creating a project with other modders is a huge undertaking involving a lot of organization. Most modders will also have creative differences that will get in the way. Trying to get modders to work on a project together is much like herding cats, and most group projects die out very quickly. The few exceptions are projects like Tamriel Rebuilt and the LGNPC project, both of which have a very clear purpose and requirements, and are conducted by experienced modders who can follow those requirements.

If you do find someone who's interested, then great, but I'm just offering a friendly warning. It will be much tougher to complete that project than it would be just making it by yourself.

To be honest, I just feel like working in a 2 man team. Thanks for the friendly warning, however.
Offer is still up.

Hey, i am in a team with another modder making a mod...we are going just fine. We both know what to do because we have been working on it for a while. It is actually exciting seeing what they have done.

Other modders can keep you motivated and inspired. I don't think joining up with someone is such a bad idea. Good luck finding someone!

Hmm, what sort of mods do you like?
My specialty is house mods, so if you wanted to team up,
we could make one of those.

If you want to see my previous works, you can look here:

I wouldn't mind teaming up, if you're willing to work with me.
If you are interested, you can PM me, and we'll talk.

I'm probably not "the world's greatest mentor", or anything,
but I know my way around the CS, and can teach you a few things.
I'm intrigued by the idea of a team project myself.
We can do something simple, and see where it takes us.
