Any way to find which mod is cause this?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 5:27 am

Hey guys, i've started playing again on my PC with mods and i have a few mods selected and one or two of them are annoying me! they've replaced the floor with maps of the nearest city repeated instead of the usual grass and the other thing is that the wildlife that attacks you have been humongified! Like there are giant mudcrabs and wolfs! which is rather annoying, so i was wondering if anyone knew of any know mods that may cause these!, i can provide a list of my selected mods but not at the moment! :(

Thanks in advance

You seem to have corrupt shaders. If you do not have them backed up, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20348. You should have your game patched to the latest version, which is already taken care of if you are using the GOTY edition.

LAWL! I'ma let Tomlong take over the problem from here, she's more helpful then I could ever be with this sort of issue.

you can get your LO from multiple sources. A small but useful program called BOSS (Better Oblivion Sorting Software) or OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager - a must have!) or Wrye Bash

I highly recommend getting OBMM since many mods require you to have that, and the others around here will point you in the direction of Wrye and BOSS, but for now, just for LO and future mods yo umay install you HAVE to get OBMM, and not long after, I will recommend BOSS.

Once you get OBMM, open it (if installed correctly it will be in your Oblivion folder), select Import/Export (th elast button on the bottom right of the screen), select "view Load Order", once the dialogue menu opens up, hit Cntrl + A (do not hit the plus sign, I mean, hit control and A) to highlight it all, then Cntrl + C to copy.

If you have a ton of mods in your list, when putting your LO in a response first type
LO goes here
It is amusing to see you now vouch for installing utilities Ntom...but not too surprising considering how much more convenient they make managing a modded setup.

Corrupt shaders means they are corrupt, not missing. Empty your current Shaders folder and put the fresh set of shaders from the download in it.

Just on a purely technical note, BOSS does not post an actual load order. It posts the order it selected for EVERY mod in your Data folder, whether they're active or not. The active load order is what needs to be posted, preferably from the list in Wrye Bash as it will display version numbers for those mods that have them.
