How well did FNV sell?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:27 pm

Yeah I know, that was my biggest problem with NV.

I played it one more time yesterday for two hours before selling it this morning and was just wandering around, finding nothing new.

Then I played Fallout 3 for an hours and found a raider based with a turret. I was only a level 3 with a sledgehammer and 10mm pistol.

Not trying to gang up on someone, but I do indeed smell a bit of hypocricy from his posts too.

No, I didn't mean that post for just one specific person (or we would have dealt with it via PM.) This is an issue I feel the entire thread should be paying attention to. It doesn't apply to just one specific member at all - I simply used that post as the most convenient example. There's a number of other members on this thread who need to pay attention to what they're posting and how it's going to be received.

They are the one who asked how well did NV sell

But of course, WE are the ones who ALWAYS start arguing

Yah its ton more interesting. But it also depends on the landscape. FNV had boring landscape and surrounding because it was int he desert.

This and just so everybody knows I went to Gamestop and traded in Fallout: New Vegas which is now being sold there for $20, and yet Fallout 3 is being sold there for $18, and GOTY is being sold for $35.

I put it on my card, probably gonna use it for RAGE... I was pretty shocked when he told me I only got $13 back. They really should update their website.

What do you mean? Either the price dropped down that low or I got ripped off. I hope it;s not the second one.

you got ripped off i think. I mean if they are selling it for only 20, 13 makes sense. But where i am New Vegas is still selling for 40 used and is buying for 25 or 30 probably.

for me the lack of content and just super static gameworld is gamebreaking, new vegas was ok for a month or two but its just so predictable every time, and the desert is super empty it doesn't have nearly enough decent locations, you're out in the open wherver you are, very little cover anywhere, it needed like 3 times more stuff on the map, more towns, more buildings, better terrain, on the entire bottom half of the map especially instead of those huge barren dry lakes, all that space wasted, its just so empty there is no reason to travel around the map. so i'm done with the game, their dlc sales aren't gonna be all that great.

this, nuff said

I don't know if this is old or new

That is a ton of cash, only to make the future of Fallout kick so much ass Microsoft will have to invent a new xbox. Haha I can't wait.

(Can we just settle this argument and simply say, "Who Cares what sold better, and just enjoy the games we have!")

It's pretty bad that the youth of America has such very, very low standards. The writing in Fallout 3 is some of the worst ever shoved into a role-playing game.

Five bucks? WOW! How is yours $10 cheaper?

Pandabear, that's just trying to be rude.

Fallout 3 sold millions and was incredible.

I personally dislike New Vegas but it sold just as well.

Oh, that's just nonsense and you know it. There were some badly implemented dialogue trees, but this myth of 100% bad writing in F3 is just unfounded. There's some very good writing, some excellent writing and some poor writing, just like practically every other video game.
People just repeat this partisan drivel over and over until they lose all objectivity. If you want to hate something you'll find things to hate.

Closed.

Yeah... now I remember this thread. I believe I've posted in here once before, warning people to come to an understanding of the difference between arguing an opinion as if it were solid fact, and how that leads to bad things.

Apparently, we're not going to be taking that advice in this thread, as I'm still seeing the same trend.

So, locked it is. I thought it might be nice to have a place here where opinions could be civilly discussed. Apparently it's not going to be this thread...
