Need to identify a landscape texture file

Post » Mon May 16, 2011 11:39 pm

Does anyone know what landscape texture the 'road' (that goes through the gate) on http://images.uesp.net//f/f9/MW-Images-Fort_Darius.jpg picture is? I'm using a texture replacer which replaces that texture with one I don't like it all, but I don't know what texture replacer it was from and I don't know what the file is called so I can't find it.

I'm using a vanilla picture as example because it's probably easier to identify.

Hard to tell just from a glance because it looks different in my game (texture replacers of course). I usually use Inranview (w/ the DDS pllugin) to view the textures folder...and look for them visually. But you might be able to guess a little too....it's probably starts with the initials of the region (AI, BC, WG etc) and has " dirt road" in the texture name. You could also load a mod into CS and paint each texture till you find the culprit. Sorry I don't have the time to help more...on lunch break.

Ah thanks, you were right, but it turns out I wasn't looking in the right place, that texture/road was just fine.

It doesn't seem to be that one.

if it's not the one chainy mentioned try _land_default.tga

had much trouble with that one, because it only can be 256.

Yes, that's a troublesome texture. They used it for both the minimap and the landscape. I wonder why, as the map will lock up if you go beyond 256*256 pixels.
